Default Survivor

I know there are lots of threads on survivor but I have a few questions I don't think I have seen. What scrolls should I buy that is cheapest but will also speed it up a lot (I'm going to be farming vaettirs). Is it the Scroll of Slayer's Insight? Does that mean I should be killing all vaettirs in less than 5 minutes? I guess if I wait until I ball up the first group it should pretty much work...

So if a vaettir gives me 200xp, that is 12,000xp per run which is 30,000xp if I use a scroll (also ignore benefits from the shrine). That makes it less than 45 runs to complete the title, are my calculations right?

Finally I am going to be using Obsidian Flesh, Stoneflesh and Wastrel's spam. Is there a way to make this run even safer? I will also go straight to guild hall if I think I might die. I've gotten half way before and don't want to have to do it all again. But I'm also impatient so I don't want to do it a slow way. Thanks for any tips.

You can bring bonder heroes to make it easier for yourself (just remember to flag them)

Also, if you're having trouble killing them within the scroll duration, then try balling all 60 vaettirs into one group. [1]

Do note that the Scroll of Slayer's Insight, Scroll of Berserker's Insight, and Scroll of the Lightbringer give the same bonus of 350% Exp in HM (this already considers the 50% extra Exp from HM bonus).

As for the cheapest scroll giving the most exp, that would be Scroll of Slayer's Insight.
Scroll of Rampager's Insight would be the cheapest if you're willing to do extra runs.

Just got half way through the title and died, sigh.

I'm currently using Feel No Pain as a kind of panic button if Stoneflesh Aura is down for a bit but without the alcohol which I don't want to have to keep using everytime, it doesn't help much. Any better panic buttons for E/Me? Starting again now, hopefully it won't happen again.. (I clicked to move just before stoneflesh finished and didn't realise.. any way to stop that?)

Well as an El/Me the obvious ones are Obsidian Flesh (Spell Immunity, +20 armor) and Mist Form (Attack immunity), though those are elite skills.

Oh, and Panic of course. Though that's really only because of the name .

You can disable mouse walking with the first check box on the general options screen.

Another good safety net to have when vaettir farming for survivor is to have the /resign command already typed out just in case. You won't be able to talk but it beats dying at 1 mil exp because you used the wrong skill/couldn't get stoneflesh up in time.

I know but I don't want to, I just did it by accident. I like using click to move when farming to ensure I'm not lagging a lot.

Similar to above, I use the /stuck command the whole time because it is so easy to get trapped by the vaettirs without noticing and then end up not balling them up very well.

But thanks both for the help.

I have changed to use IAU instead of FNP because I think the armor is much more likely to keep me alive then the health regen (when it comes to not getting stoneflesh up in time)

There is no reason for your stoneflesh or obsidian flesh to ever drop. Assuming you are using glyph of swiftness and a +20 mod, the only way to lose a buff is if you get greedy and try to sneak in another wastrels or two. Don't even let the buffs flash, if it means taking another 20seconds to kill the group, so be it. As far as getting stuck, as long as you make sure that when you stop to buff (as you're still gathering the mobs) that the mobs are all on one side of you, you'll be fine.

I know they should never drop, I'm accounting for mistakes because they happen. And I know I won't get stuck if they are all on one side of me but I usually have to recast stoneflesh before I can get them all on one side. Thanks for the help though.

Vaettirs give 300 Exp in HM, thats 18k without scrolls and with scrolls 36k so it will be very very fast to get survivor.
I only know the 2 shadow form variants for A/mo or a/me not sure is E/me is just as easy. For me to die with vaettirs I really need to screw something up and not pay attention. Even then 99% of the time you do not have to die, but that's as a sin.

I did survivor on one account the Vaettir way. Take some monk bonders (flag them far enough away) and it's very easy.

On my other account I got survivor by capping elite skills. Very fast and you get 2 titles for the price of 1...

I've already done a lot of the skills, just have elona left. I tried not to do while doing them but I cbb doing it all at the same time, so ended up doing other less safe things and dying.

I think I'll take some bonder monks just for the added safety. At 600k again so I don't want to die again.

Ok i rarely post here but i was in a situation similar to yours so i thought i'll share my knowledge. I also did survivor with vaettirs but i took one of the older builds which worked much better after i tweaked it abit. I once died on last run so trust me when i tell you i made a safe build for second attempt. Use obsi flesh stoneflesh aura ets then add mantra and armor of earth for epic safeness. Use taenei's crysrals and crystal wave +light of deldrimor to kill (2 passes will kill them if memory serves) make sure to lower the mantra attribute enough for glyph to work for 2 spells and use glyph on flesh AND aura to avoid downtimes cos of casting times. My runs lasted for 3 mins tops and in total it took me 4 hours to max the title. Hope this helps you along abit
